Forbes Cloud 100 - Legit?

Hey folks, the forbes cloud 100 list 2021 is out. Just wanna know everyone's thoughts on this list - legit? 
https://www.forbes.com/cloud100/ The Cloud 100 2021 A funding frenzy helped catapult 34 new companies onto the list and boost their combined market value to $514 billion, nearly double the total of a year ago. The No. 1 company on the list, America’s most valuable startup, accounts for nearly one-fifth of that sum.

This list actually seems to have a lot of great companies on it. But I also think all lists like this are somewhat bullshit.

I have to agree with u! The criteria seems to be decided loosely by the “panel of judges” who remain mysterious and unnamed.

Most of the Forbes listings is paid advertising, yes there's some truth in all of it but you gotta read between the lines.

Not saying it's a bunch of shit companies, but nothing to really care about. It's an advertising move to attract reps, investors, new business, etc.

These are all pay for play bullshit.  Just like the Forbes "Advisory Counsel" that they "invite people" to (and then it comes with a monthly fee).  Any of these "top whatever" lists should be taken with a grain of salt.

All of these types of list are pay for play BS.  Just like Forbes "invite only" --- "Leadership Counsel", that comes with a monthly fee? Hmmmmmmm...Take any of these "top whatever" lists with a grain of salt.  Especially "best places to work" -- which really means "HR team is most proficient at signing up for awards"

We have these TOP X# EMPLOYER awards in Canada/Province etc. They are paid placements. There is no real judging or placement... You just pay money and fill out a form on a list. 

Complete marketing BS.
