I would say that it is a mixture of a few things. There are a ton of valid points made here that I have learned from. I owe a lot of becoming an AE to the info I received from being a fly on the wall. Now I log in so that I can give back and also, let's not forget that sweet commish.

bravado is a space for the exchange of knowledge and coexistence. You find nice people here.
To let my freak flag fly? Nah I get some knowledge but I'm here to blow off steam and have a good time. I also like to share my insights to help someone get through an obstacle slightly faster or easier than I had to learn how to do by myself. And the amazon gift cards don't hurt!

I can't point to any one of these as the sole reason. It's a mix of every single one of them, to be frank.
I hear you @punishedlad! Was trying to understand if one had to pick only 1 option, what would it be. But I understand what you're saying. Most of the other savages are of the same opinion.
A lot of it is learning about other sales environments and their sales processes. You read about Enterprise SaaS AEs with 3 quarter long sales cycles then you hear about SMB AEs in a random industry.

All good. I selected the “ I can’t say things on LI” cause I’m Connected to 90% of my company. I’d be fired within a day.
I wouldn't be surprised if LinkedIn comes out with its anonymous version tomorrow.
