Fuck you, Salesforce.

Yeah , I said it. Fuck Salesforce. (Just need to vent a bit here, feel free to make fun of me, agree with me, vent YOUR frustrations, etc. all are welcome)

I'm sick of fucking updating salesforce, it's literally all I fucking do.

Management team: "Of course we're not gonna micromanage you but your inhales were down on Wednesday from 2-3, were you golfing?

Salesforce has turned the selling profession into a dashboard pleasing role versus actually TAKING CARE OF THE FUCKING CLIENT.

Here are some things I do that my NEGLECTFUL LEADERSHIP TEAM does not know about me for no other reason than they only judge me as a fucking stat on their stupid dashboards everyday:

-Time spent listening to podcast interviews of my target prospects

-Reading my target accountsโ€™ 10โ€™k reports

-Researching top prospects not just through LI, but Facebook, X, etc.

-Recording video messages and making pitch decks in Canva

-Coordinating necessary internal meetings to support deals.

-Collaborating internally across divisions to better serve current customers and expand accounts.

Seriously, FUCK SALESFORCE.

Regards,

TRPD

Itโ€™s not salesforce, itโ€™s your leadership team.

Donโ€™t blame the tool, blame the operator.

Agreed, I think more than the tool, the leadership seems at fault.
We all know, we need to update something to record our activities and efforts, canโ€™t just see all this hard work, if they have to present something to their higher ups, how will they. ?

Then again, I get it, it can get frustrating. Anything operational basically becomes a challenge sooner or later.

This. Salesforce is an inanimate platform, only as good as those who upkeep it.

Once more: your leadership team is the problem.

Vendors donโ€™t sell process. They sell software that may or may not match your process.

SFDC doesnโ€™t give two poos about whether or not their shitty lump of parts makes your life easy or hard. They just want that quota retirement.

AMEN!
I worked at a place that wanted to you to updated 25 opportunities everyday in SF. I quite literally got the 'minimum pieces of flair' talk from Office Space:

It seems like the number of opps you touched this week is low. You have an average of 26 per day.

Ok...? Isn't 25 the standard?

Well, yes, but Timmy over there updates 40 each day. You should try to be more like Timmy.

Timmy's at 14% of quota for the year. I'm at 108%. Have you actually looked at WHAT he's updating in the opportunity? He's just changing the dollar value by $1. Is that what you want me to do so I can hit 40 opps per day?

EXACTLY. It forces you to actually find creative ways to fake the activity in salesforce enough to allow you some breathing room to ACTUALLY do your job. It's ridiculous that more than half of my efforts are spent worrying about "logging" shit, it's just absurd.

SF is a double edge sword. It can be a great tool to answer important business questions but itโ€™s also the crutch of a poor manager who can only manage by numbers.

We have kpis and metrics I do not agree with however with a private equity above you leadership has zero choice but to enforce it. Pushing too hard to minimize or eliminate said metrics will result in termination so understand leadership has no option either

Oof thatโ€™s a tough one. Must respect to you for focusing on all the activities you should be though. I liked the listening to the podcast one, might have to do that
