50/50 all the way. all the better if you're lucky enough to work somewhere with a high base and a reasonable quota withย acceleratorsย after 100% like I am

Yeah, I miss those. Best accelerator I had was 3x, but you had to hit 200% of your quota at least, no cap.

I have 2x from 100-300% and 1.25x from 300%+ which is pretty solid IMO

What about monthly residuals? Digital marketing is largely based on performance so this should be taken into account as well.

Yep those comms are residuals, however they can be structured in a way that builds slower and compounds hugely, or builds quicker and tops out quickerย

Depends on how high that base is! But 50/50 split with a solid base is perfect.

yeah i think there's a huge "it depends" factor here

i've been on a 100k base and reeling in 150-200k in comms for the past couple of years. the OTE on target would be closer to 50:50 so perhaps as an "on track" the 50:50 is a good measure, but someone confident of over achieving can look at that and think they can tip the scales way heavier towards comms

I've always liked 50/50 in this scenario. You need a base to work deals that sometimes aren't closing quickly, but you need motivation to get enough money to do more than pay your bills. 50/50 is a good split.

You need something to fall back on while you ramp. Higher base.
