I worked with procurement team in 2017-2018 for a gruesome 8 months RFP process for selecting LTAS vendors. One of my counterparts in a competitor company told me over drinks that the RFP was so exhaustive that they decided to backout (to save time), he said it was not worth it.
3 years of waiting and submitting multiple RFP responses, closed one decent size deal (before that closed a 100k USD strategic deal in 2020).
Another 700k USD in pipeline :)
