Getting a new Sales Manager

I started at my current SaaS company about a month ago and have been reporting directly to the CEO (I knew this was going to be for a limited period of time). I found out that we will have a new Sales Manager starting in a couple of weeks. Any advice on how to navigate that new relationship? Ways to make a good first impression?

I am trying my best to not pre-judge or come in with expectations of the manager until I actually meet them. I have found I work very well with "servant-leaders" in the past instead of a "do what I say" type of manager and am hoping the new manager takes a supportive approach.

If you know who they are and can find them on LinkedIn, I would reach out and connect and send a small note of who you are and that you're excited to work with them.

Connect with them on LinkedIn. Message them. Introduce yourself. Tell them you are excited to be working with them.

Then when you finally meet them be sure to be energetic and positive and ready to kick ass together.

Motivation comes from a lot of different places. It could be that sales isn't the path for you. But I can tell you that I've worked in a number of different careers and getting comfortable is very easy.

Make your bed, put the laundry away. EZ wins. Get that mindset back with small things.
