Getting lost accounts to respond to an outreach - help

My "project" is to take a list of "lost accounts" (all stage 1 or 2) and re-engage them in a non-salesy conversation. Objective is to build a trusted relationship so when they're ready we'll be top of mind.

I've tried email, LI, Gift cards to a charity and starting out bound calls. A few have engaged and we've had great conversations that were honest, non salesy, non marketingy. The rest are just not responding.

Any advice or ideas. B2B companies, mid level managers and some directors, mostly in prof svcs industries.

Thanks

She sure is. I would never have thought of that.ย  Wish people were back in the office to receive it. Wonder if there is a digital version in a gamelike format.

Going through the closed lost list is a great use of time, but uncertain it's worth a core focus.ย

I've had success in the past just re-engaging them over a longer time period unless there was a clear problem that had been resolved by a feature change etc.ย

Have you tried just sending out a link to a SurveyMonkey or something similar?
It could be that the contacts that were initially involved in those deals are no longer with the company. Have you verified your contact list?

Lol if theyโ€™re pissed at you, what makes you think theyโ€™re going to do a survey?ย

Sounds like a marketing response ๐Ÿ‘€

LOL, just trying to think outside the box

And nothing was said about the companies being pissed... unless I'm assuming something I shouldn't about the term "lost accounts"

I have verified the list. Survey doesn't get me 'talking' to them.ย  Direct mail...hmm, hadn't thought about that.ย ย

Are you engaging only the contacts that were involved in the Opportunities initially? Are there other contacts within the company that you can be calling on to spark the conversation?

I have to say... if possible to politely decline this project I absolutely would. This seems as far from revenue generating activity as I've ever seen a company ask of a sales role. Sure, remaining top of mind is great- but turning that into a "project" to be completed seems like you're just throwing ish out there just to see what sticks.ย

You want feedback. You have been tasked with understanding what went wrong and how you could improve.ย

"You spoke to us x amount of time ago, and I am being asked to reach out for feedback. What could we have done better or improved on".ย

Prof services means a few things- lots of competitors, they kept inhouse or still need the service. Figure out what happens and try and get a few meetings booked to talk about updates/developments.ย

Good luck!ย

Send them a jam of the month subscription, everyone loves jamโ€ฆ. Honestly though some of the other responses are pretty spot on, if that initial champion of your product/software has left the company, your product or software may have been cut out when the new person filled that role. May be an opportunity to win that business again with that new person. I canโ€™t say I would jump at being on that campaign but if they bought once they will probably buy again.

For all you mail mergers out there, do you see more success emailing one DM or all DMs on a custom thread? I've noticed that putting all relevant DMs on one campaign that is 100% customized to their business has a much higher response rate (28% meeting sucess)
