I've seen some stories of folks making personalized GIF's for prospects, but wanted to continue that conversation.
To start, if you haven't seen or used the GIFJIF app, you are missing out. It's a couple bucks, but I've had folks try to hire me from shitty cold emails that had a personalized GIF.
Quick story when it backfired.
I was prospecting into Coca-Cola Co. The product was meant for recruiters and talent operations folks. I figured to be in talent ops, you at least have to be personable. Maybe I took it a step too far, but figured this dude had opened my emails like 97 times, would pick up my calls and proceed to give me an exact date and time to call him back. Little did I know that this guy had little pee pee syndrome.
When the sun was setting and I knew it was time to give up, I pulled a Kyler Murray-->DeAndre Hopkins.
I made a gif of Jack & Rose fighting for the final block of ice (or whatever that scene was... I just feel like Jack should have fought for that spot a little harder)
I placed this gentleman's face on Rose, and my face on Jack, and wrote "y u gotta do me like this"
15 minutes pass. And your boy is pulled into a conference room, where this sack of dingleberries emailed/CC'd not only the entire C-level of my company, but the investors and his lawyer as well.
Was I reprimanded. Absolutely.
Did I end up booking a meeting with his superior the week after with an extremely similar tactic. Yes.
Moral of the story. Never give up savages.
