Gift campaigns?

How do you feel about gift campaigns? My company does not yet have a marketing team (also is this common?) so I'm thinking of offering $100 gift card to help spread the word of my product.

Are they successful? Does $100 for 30 minutes really work?

Have you done a gift campaign before?

I think $100 per gift is a high starting point unless you’re very selective with your prospects.

So you would take a demo for $100 :)

hahaha yes, I would but I'm just a sales guy. Would someone in the VP level or above take one is the real question.

Maybe have a working lunch that you provide while they watch your demo.

Good point! Sometimes I feel like staffing companies have so many people in their pipeline for a particular role as well.

I've seen companies do it. In b2c doesn't work because retention is bad. in enterprise, they can't take gifts.

Why would you say retention is bad? I thought that is why CS is here to keep them around 🤷🏻‍♀️

you'll get a lot of garbage leads that just want the gift card so you'll end up wasting your time pitching to people that dont want it unless you have very strict guidelines on who is able to get the gift card.

Shame on you 🤣. You must have been somewhat interested! Its tough work staying awake for 30 minutes of an irrelevant call.

Never done one but I’ve been gifted a few things when being prospected. I’ve had:

case of 24 IPA
masterclass course
coffee cup with high end coffee beans
Uber eats vouchers

I've sent out actually gifts to try to secure meetings. Whiskey Glass/Decanter sets, Amazon Echos... stuff like that.

Honestly, it wasn't close to being worth it...

I spent close to $700 and closed maybe $360 worth of business?

It's like a referral to a company that you don't know anyone at. Tell them about all the companies you're looking at, let them get you into the ones that they have relationships with, and you go after the ones they don't.

If you can find a firm-based recruiter who has access to several roles, then you stand a better chance of getting into the applicant flow since it's a direct port.
