Gmail Inbounds

how many times will you reach out calling and emailing gmail.com leads that came inbound? we get a decent amount of them. I wanted to block the gmail domain and require a business email, but CEO said no. Our CEO said maybe people don't want us to know their company and are shielding their identity until they get info they want. Does your company require business email on form fills and demo requests? any thoughts?ย

Depends, defence sector loves using personal gmail because it doesn't get blocked but they can chat to new vendors...

I had marketing draw up a campaign for you: โ€œLike my buns? You should see my guns.โ€

Cannot fail.

I've pushed and gotten freemail domains blocked at a couple of places. For complex situations it's basically all garbage. And we were getting a TON of spam that bogging shit down.

If it's not an issue then let it come and just deprioritize.

I would agree with the CEO. but i would treat them as lower intent leads for sure.

Interesting topic. We get high quality ones with business emails but personal emails are allowed for sure

All leads are created equal- except when theyโ€™re not. Alternative low-priority workflow and language can be helpful in getting them out of your hair.

We get them but we keep them as low priority. Mostly SPAM. Wouldn't want to spend a lot of time figuring out who the POC is in this case.

As a business you'll barely get any business from free-mails. Might as well not pay active attention.

Im with the depends crew. If you are b2b and usually a high value transaction then I am in favour of blocking gmail domains as it almost always garbage enquiries. If you are more transactional, have some b2c crossover or is low value deals where small businesses are frequent clients then gmail is likely relevant.

Is my name on any of them. Iโ€™d use a company email but first need a company to have an email. But I still like to learn. Maybe create an option to have them filter out the gmail leads and require the company name of using gmail.

Require a work email. 95% of my gmail stuff is just fake bs.

If your target customer is B2B, then it does not make sense to allow personal domain emails from booking demo meetings. If a customer is serious, then he/she will use work email only. Have you automated demo meeting booking from your website? To automatically block personal/free/spam domains from form submission, you can make use of HubSpot form. Or else make use of neverbounce API. Third option is, check leadmonk.io which seamlessly integrates with any web form to instantly qualify, route and schedule meetings. It can also filter personal/spam email mail domains from giving meetings.
