Go from career startup AE to AM at a large global fintech company?

I've been selling saas for 6+ yearsand recently received an offer to join a fintech company that's offering $165k base and no bonus but tons of room for promotions and annual raises. I've previously earned 180-250k a year (with bases between 80-110).

In this new AM role, there are no quotas. It's very low pressure with team targets. Has anyone ever made a similar switch? pros? cons? regrets?

Reach out and talk to some current people. That sounds like a pretty easy job overall for a predictable income.

165k base with no stress is nice, i would use your network to learn if its really low stress/path to promotion

Get on LinkedIn and talk to some of the people who work there. Everyone promises promotion, but very few deliver. No bonus at all? $165k is nice if there's no stress, but you could make a lot more with 6 years of experience.

Sounds pretty decent, as long as you don't get bored.

Sounds like a solid raise! Interesting that they have no quotas. I'd be happy to take it from what you described. High base and low pressure, just stay consistent.

As long as you are making the same/more and get the name on resume, why would you care. You can always lateral or pick up the AE role with a bug in leadership’s ear

Nice gig especially heading into FY24 with the economy and more layoffs on the horizon, would take the gig.
