I'm in the process of going through the steps to move to another company in a completely different industry.
Some background of where I'm at: they reached out to me since the territory is in my current town, with the remainder of the territory only being about 10-20 minutes away. Don't want to give the name of the company away, but they are considered one of the top sales companies to work for. I have 2-3 interviews left, one with the sales manager (who originally reached out to me) and the director of sales and then a potential ride along. This role is more of an AE role, which I do have experience with, but am currently a BDR. I did look at the old posts already for some tips/tricks, but would welcome some new feedback in terms of things I can do to make myself stand out more and some good questions I can ask that are probably more high level.
-Treat the process like a sales cycle and build the hiring manager into your champion
-Ask for coaching along the way, i.e. text the hiring manager for your first interview and say "I'm really looking forward to starting the process, I'm coming prepared with XYZ for the interview, anything else that would help me be successful on the call?"
-Once you move on to other interviews, ask the hiring manager to coach you through the personality types and what to expect from those that will be meeting with you.
-Come prepared with specifics of deals you've worked and how you reached the finish line
-Know your strengths and weaknesses, come ready to discuss both
-If you want to be extra ambitious, come with a 30/60/90 day plan for how you will attack your new territory
-Any sales methodologies you know, speak to them
-Ask for feedback at the end of every call and take notes
-Send recap emails after every meeting, reminding them of the value you took away
Not sure if this is what you're looking for and without specifics of the product you sell, this is all I could come up with right now.ย Hope this helps and good luck.ย ย
