Gong ranked #2 on LI's Top Startups

There can only be one logical explanation to this ranking... The gong tech has breached LinkedIn and is controlling their entire org.

Jokes aside, I'm so curious why a lot of you sales savages shit on these guys. Seems like they are blowing up, but if they are posting company wide LinkedIn's that is a bit cringe.

Anyway a couple notable companies on there, but heres the top 10:

  1. Better
  2. Gong
  3. Glossier
  4. Discord
  5. Brex
  6. Clubhouse
  7. Attentive
  8. Youth to the People
  9. Outreach
  10. MikMak

People shit on the way Gong reps act and are nauseating on LI. I think most people on here agree the company is doing really well, its just everything else that everyone on here hates.

That being said this is just a list of SaaS companies that paid LI to get on here.ย

Iโ€™m sus that the company is doing well. Seems like theyโ€™re just laundering human trafficking money to cook their books along with Seamless.ai

Maybe the traffic their humans to seamless @WCKย can you investigate? You're our resident expert here.

Their rate of growth is pretty impressive even if I would yeet most.of their employees into the sea.ย

Great list of SME and Enterprise companies with enough money/influence to get onto this list...nice to include three SMB/real startup companies in the list, too.

This is such a spot on call out. I have a good number of friends that work at Samsara (#15 on this list and like 1500 employees) and they act like they are a startup still but have gone through 7 rounds of funding, raised almost $1 billion and are doing like $250 mil a year in revenue. That aint a startup.ย

This is the second thing that struck me...

The term 'startup' is thrown around so loosely these days.

Gong is selling the shit out of their product and constantly making it better. The hate is derived from the cringe posts their reps have on LinkedIn (itโ€™s a blend of influencer and bs) anyone would love to sell a product as in demand as Gong is right now.ย

Yup, agreeing with first comment. The product is great and I've literally used it at every startup. No denying that. The fucking people are beyond cringe. Makes me sick.

I think people are sus of Gong because it makes it so they canโ€™t hide anymore. All their shortcomings are out in the open. People donโ€™t like being told theyโ€™re not as good as they thought, especially sales people.

OK, who let Amit Bendov in the War Room?

In all seriousness, def some prideful people who don't like having software telling them why they suck, but generally heard positive things from people who use it long term.

Gong has a great product that works. Their marketing strategy of swarming LinkedIn with blowhardy and cringey engagement pod bullshit is annoying when it clogs up your LinkedIn feed.

I was obsessed with Gong for a long time. Our Head of Sales at my last company was always like, "Why can't we be more like Gong?!" V. annoying.

Good for them that they're blowing up. Just wondering how sustainable it'll be. Is their product really the best? Or is it just that their brand is everywhere?

Obviously this is a list you can (most likely) pay to get on, but these are companies looking to keep growing and stay in the limelight.
