Good vs bad decisions

Recently my company has made so many changes that it’s almost unrecognizable. The team was downsized, the company was divided into 2 main revenue departments, some departments where let go completely, it’s been a rollercoaster!

Some changes I agree with, others I don’t understand, a few are crazy! What devotions has your company recently taken that have been awesome outside of the Box ideas? Which ones have not? If you were appointed as the decision maker what would be the first changes you would take and why?

For me it would be to reinstate the Quality Assurance Team because how is a company supposed to succeed without one? Also double the lead gen team, their plates are full and we all depend on them.

Sounds like someone at your company had a stroke of genius and changed everything. Some more context is appreciated, what's gone? what's new?

We've been "sunseting" a few accounts while working on a new revenue, the company wants to into a type of consultancy. The commission structure and salaries have changed.

Asking the real questions, they are focusing on a different type of business and moving away from our current clients.

it sounds risky - more like trial and error.

We've recently had some people promoted to Director level while also still carrying a quota- I don't think this is a good idea so would be curious to learn of other people's experiences!

We've also promoted an SDR without Management experience into the SDR Manager. So far, it's seemingly problematic as the Manager is not holding a quota but is being more of a friend than a mentor/leader for the team.

I think every company has those kind of promotions, where it dosen't make sense, while having a true beast stick to the lower levels of the company.

I don't think management exp is absolutely neccessary for SDR leadership, but it certainly helps. AE's often make that jump, but I think an SDR needs a team lead type thing before making that full leap. They may still be seen as a peer. THe team lead thing lets them lead by example, while easing them into management tasks.

These seem like a couple of bad decisions, why cut QA team?
