Google Reviews for Companies

Do people normally look at Google reviews of companies they're trying to prospect into? I can't believe I never thought of this until now. I inherited a current customer at my company that has a large spend and am assigned to it for the remainder of the year.

I searched their company name on Google and found some incredibly bad reviews that I'm not sure they're aware of.

Do people normally check the Google reviews and I'm just late to the party?

Glassdoor reviews of companies youโ€™re prospecting into give good insight too - depending on what your selling of course

Yes all the time, but I actually sell a product that helps with some of the things in the reviews (poor UX, etc).ย

They do. Not very aggressively though. Across clientele I've interacted

Google Reviews sound like people going scorched earth when they're really pissed but it could also be somebody that doesn't even work there. I'd stick to Glassdoor.

Sometimes, but that's only when I need more research during my prospecting phase.

I do this a ton. Especially with G2 and Capterra. Look at competitor reviews, note the people who leave 3 star or below reviews. Reach out to them. Sometimes it takes a little digging to find them, but many times you can narrow down who left the review

If they have a product and you are trying to understand what the users think of it G2 is the best place to go. Google reviews sounds like disgruntled employees, and people who are just angry.
