Google Voice tips

When I call on somebody who has a Google Voice number, I've had more success getting the person to take the call than not whenever I just don't say anything when prompted to "State your name, and the reason you're calling."

What are some things that you have tried when dealing with a virtual assistant-type screener like this?

I usually just go with a "Hey it's <name>!" and see if they pick up.

Sometimes a person will pick up and not say anything - maybe to see if I’m a robocaller. That’s what I hit em with, in a tone like “don’t you remember me? You know me!”

When I get those robo prompts I don't say anything. I don't run into them very often, though.
