Grass is Greener on the Other Side

Hiring a rep back after he left for another company. This is the 3rd time one came back in a year after leaving,

So the old adage goes like this (with my new and improved 2 options)

The grass is always greener on the other side..................

  1. Until you jump the fence
  2. Because you arent over there fucking up the grass on the other side

You choose, let me know which one resonates or you like. Lol

Happy New Year and welcome back participants of the great resignation, i told you not to leave to the absurd money being offered on unrealistic comp plans.

Imagine during a Boomerang employee interview saying the Grass wasn't greener, then responding "Because you are the one fucking up the grass"

I had that conversation with this last one, and also reminded him how bad he left our grass on the way out. So come fertilize the grass you torched and know the whole HOA is watching your grass so dont be stupid again

He left torching the grass, was a great rep but went out talking about how much more he made than the rest, but while here led all teams in sales, was a top producer, just needed and ego check

Makes sense. Did he mature in his time away? Or will this remain to be seen?

BTW, in this case, I applaud you for giving him another chance. People do grow and change.

Yeah, I lean towards the grass being greener where you water it and the devil I know is better than the devil I don't.

Some, but it depends on reasons. If they left just for money promised and wasnt achieveable like i told them before they left that they could come back and they produce yes. I counter 25% of the time for top producers, those i will take back and tell them that when they leave. the other 75% can go find a new yard

Been there and the grass was certainly greener on the other side. But I was at toxic university before so it was more like a cement parking lot then green pasture

Love them both.. and the other one about โ€œthe grass is greener where you water itโ€ too!
I guess it depends if I was going on record or not.

Not a fan of โ€œboomerangsโ€ in general, however I understand there can be exceptional reasons.
That being said- coming back once is fine with sound rationale on both ends.
Two or more?โ€ฆ not sure anyone is worth that much trouble unless your talking about an athlete, and weโ€™re referring to a GOAT.
