Great Update - 4 job offers and better pay

Hey All,

If you've been keeping up with my posts (don't know why you would) but I've been looking for a new job and then was laid off out of nowhere and now have a great update - you all were right. The market is not only insanely hot but I ended up with 4 offers all paying more than where I was previously at. Just accepted one today.

I ended up having something like 45 total interviews. It was getting a bit bonkers but treated it like my regular pipeline and it went smooth. And yes, I crushed every mock call/presentation I was given. I point that out because the former head of sales made it a point to tell me maybe I wasn't so great at sales when they were throwing me out the building (this is while knowing I'm at 150% of quota).

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who wrote words of encouragement or advice. It helped a ton and made me feel not so alone. I made sure not to take to heart the negative words and just keep chugging along. I'm now going to be in the industry I want to be in, have much better leadership, and getting paid more to do it plus better benefits.

All in all this was a blessing and very thankful to this community for the help!

Congratulations! What would you say the biggest factor was for you in finding who you want to work for? Also, how did you go about answering mock presentations?

Thank you! Biggest factor for me was applying to jobs I actually wanted. I looked into the organization, talked to folks I knew at them and went for it as hard as I could.

For the mock presentation, I honestly just ran them how I ran real presentations. I made sure I had that autonomy (If I didn't that's an insane red flag) and then went for as best I knew how. Had some great feedback on things I can work on and things they learned from me. The org I actually signed the letter for gave me the most effective and thoughtful feedback and was a huge part of me joining - felt like I would actually learn, grow, and be challenged.
