Grew 4x in 5 years but changed 4 companies.

In the initial phase, I was already suggested as per industry standards to not switch jobs often or the profile can be hampered and you will never end up with a job as trust becomes a factor.
What I realised is that, jump for a new one if the learning stops and there's something better to learn, grow, earn and achieve.

This is what I did to grow, learn and network faster. What are your thoughts?

But are you still a BDR after 5 years?

If that's your thing than good for you. Otherwise you might be proving the opposite point.

job hopping doesn't look great on a resume. But have a good reason to give as to why you job hopped and a good recruiter won't be bothered by it. They know if they treat you right you'll stick around as long as your reasons are valid.

Plus, you gotta do what's best for you. Fuck everyone else. You gotta eat.

I feel like that’s becoming more the norm. If there’s a better opportunity and you can justify your decision, go for it

Always up, never lateral unless you’ve been there for at least a year or were offered a lot of money. It’s easy to say “they threw an addition $100k at me” and everyone will understand.

I think you just have to be able to articulate why you 'job-hopped' - it's all about telling a story. When they review your CV they may have questions so you just need good answers to their questions in order to allay their concerns. Nothing wrong with moving for money or if things start to stagnate. Everyone has a family and/or personal ambition. Nobody will hold it against you for moving jobs.

Companies tend to not trust you at a time, don’t you think?

Companies hop on their "strategy" way more than employees hop on their jobs. I won't be surprised if you grow even 3X more in next 2 years.

"Job hopping" is definitely the norm because companies don't value current employees enough to make it worth it to themt to stay.

It might work against you if the HM is old and old school, but you gotta take care of yourself.

Also, amazing growth - you should be proud.

I’m getting older, mid thirties, am on my 4th company and I’m ready to find a spot for the next decade.

Worked up to the $250k OTE so I have that background. I just had a kid and now I just want to find the place I can post up, be comfortable and get checks. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?!?

Why is every company a shitshow?
