Guess I’m back in the market

I was really excited to start my new career at this awesome EV company

I have an hourly minimum wage but commission plan is great; ran numbers and 15 cars monthly with gap, extended war, ceramic coating, prepaid service etc. 2-3 of these on each car comes out to 180k annual without the base.
sittin pretty.

However, made a deal yesterday (3rd day on the job whatsup) and discovered that we don't get paid out until we draw up the paperwork and get the customer to sign, but that doesn't happen until the car is physically here.
Cars are projected to land in December with some orders being pushed into February...

So until then I have to somehow live on minimum wage for before my first payout.

Oh to be the 21st century car salesman...

WHAAAT. Oh man, that's brutal and unsustainable. If it was 3 weeks, then sure. But that's just not do-able.

Yea it’s a bummer, I’m hoping to lock in some Business deals in the meantime since it’s primarily b2c—I have a call on Monday with a private luxury car rental company.
Hopefully make the time here worth it.
Maybe I can lock in some good stuff and it will be worth waiting it out.

Well, it’s my fourth day so I have no idea.
I’ll have to wait and see what % we have of cancellations that can create new opportunities for selling cars sooner.
As far as leads, there’s plenty inbound. We shall see as the days progress..

Take a look at places in need of fleet pricing. It won't get you all the jazz but it's volume. A lot of large quasi-goverment agencies (think counties/boards) held off buying and replacing fleets during el-covido.

Start banging the drum to all their fleet folks. Volume sell that shit.

A door knock beats the shit out of emails and calls for those boomers. Bring donuts for the mechanics with your business card taped inside the box so when they open it they see a Triforce everytime.

If it's not heavy work trucks for water/landscaping etc. Think building inspectors, small airports, blood/health services/labs, agriculture, various non-state inspectors. They all need refresh vehicles and you can use the "ain't nothing coming till December" to hook them into commits now.

This is how it is for tractors, what I sell.
Try and find the model that’s coming soonest and sell the piss out of it. See if you can do dealer transfers, see if you can check lead times on all models, get gritty and you’ll get paid commission next month.
