Hard Sell vs Consultative Sell

I am genuinely interested to know peoples thoughts as to this. Do you and your corporation go for a hard selling approach (i.e. a deal off every and anyone and close it no matter what) or do you adopt a more slow burning consultative approach of lets work together and if it doesn't work this time lets keep in touch?

I definitely favor the latter but maybe different industries have different approaches.

Do you think the best situation is to have a balance of both? Or is the hard sell outdated in todays society?

tell me im wrong.

I am selling voice technology for businesses. Sometimes they get it and see the value, other times if the business owner doesn't see it, I save the contact for later and move on.ย

Consultative/relational value selling FTW. I think it has a higher win rate as well as retention rate.ย

It depends on your ICP/Persona and the solution you're selling. I don't do hard sell bec I sell into enterprise and longer sales cycle.

Good point, I guess in situations where its a one off sale, you come and you go then a harder approach is better.ย ย
