Have not had an interview in the last 5 years. Need questions I can ask

As the title says I didn’t had an interview in the last 5 years. I‘m happy at my company and I‘m really successful with my team (current positions head of sales).

Normally I ignore head hunters, but a few days ago I got a message from one where the salary at the other company would be at least double the salary I have now (same position tho). You know the deal, head hunters don‘t say which company but my market is not that big and I know what company the recruiter was talking about.(Side Note: I‘m a little bit nervous because of the big jump in salary if I‘m good enough for that).

But anyway I decided I will hear them out. The only negative thing in my eyes is, that I would go back to sell myself (don‘t get me wrong, I love selling but I love it more to fully concentrate on my team and have the time for each individual to make them better).

what questions should I ask to be completely sure if that’s the „thing“.

OTE asked.

office/Homeoffice - asked

open questions:

how they generate leads

Is this a position to be filled bc someone left or bc they are growing.

What the onboarding looks like.

how many people are in the team.

how many of them hit their target.

what are the main obstacles.

what is the best sales person doing different than the others.

how the pipeline looks like.

do they have plans to adjust the software and how fast they can react to changes of the market/competitors.

any other questions I should keep in mind?

Your input is much appreciated!

*Exactly how much input you’ll have on structure; need to know if you’re going to be glorified AE or head of sales for real
* what’s the last policy implemented that was influenced from the sales team? Reveals culture if it’s too down or bottoms up
*what’s the tech stack and if they’re scouting for better (nobody wants outdated tools)
-Also you could use an offer letter as leverage for a raise at your current company if you’re not feeling them

All good question. I also like to ask about tenure of the team, current processes, the amount of influence you can have.

Good luck!
