Have you been able to negotiate your stock options? If so, by how much?

Hey,

Question is pretty much in the title.

I hope this post can help people get an idea of how much they could potentially negotiate their offers and make sure that they get themselves the best deal possible when joining a company!

I’m always open to people negotiating stock options! It shows that you have skin in the game and care about the long term success of the company. I’ve worked places where everyone with the same title received the same number of options and I’ve worked places where it was negotiable.

If you want more stock options because you believe in the company’s long term success, explain that and ask for more. But understand that means you’re generally trading cash for lottery tickets.

Same here I always ask for stock options at 1st. However it is not common that the company offers them. But definitely tells me that this person is committed to our vision
