Have you considered working 2+ jobs while everyone's WFH?

I just posted this as a comment on the "horrible boss" thread, but think it's worth discussing.

Tell me if you think this is genius, feasible long term, if it destroys work/life balance, etc. I want to know your opinion! :)

My experience:

I learned that my precious boss worked as a manager for 2 companies simultaneously during his whole stint.

He ignored people, was obviously over worked, and generally shitty at his job. It all made sense in the end, after he left.

However, he knew how to con just enough to get by for over a year.

Worth it?

I'm trying to get a side hustle going, not sure what I want to do yet (open to ideas), but I could not imagine working two corporate full time jobs.

I already had a decent second income flow, now I can just give it additional attention.

Also paying a lot more attention to my investment spread.

I think it makes sense if you're either a.) full salary only, or b.) under a crap comp structure. Sales is about the only industry where the harder you work, the more you make. If you have uncapped commish, just work harder at your current role.

I've seen it happen twice! now at large tech companies. both times the guy was found out pretty quickly as he was working more than 2 jobs at once (however, it took forever for HR to believe management and act). He wasn't great at hiding it - lots of excuses / deaths in the family - only seen once after his first appearance (this was all pre-pandemic). The second guy had a nice blue bird land and they had to let him keep it all. Wild stuff, but apparently its being done?
