Have you ever been called too aggressive mid-eval?

This week, I sent a break up email with a prospect that had pushed off a trial kick-off four times, this most recent time the day before at 9pm pst. Deal is 100 days old, and average deal cycles here are right around 45-100 days to complete procurement and signature (typically trials begin 30 days in)

In my email, I did the standard "when we first met you outlined your timeline was...... blah blah blah...... is this still a priority? Should I close out your case"

He responded "call me" and just got off the phone with him ranting about how that was aggressive. Threw me off, because genuinely, when most people postpone with me multiple times, they do want me to close out their case.

As a lady, I was insulted, but then I remembered that this is part of the standard grind of sales.... right?

Anyone else?

Have you been called "too aggressive" by a prospect in eval?

I said no, but there really doesn't seem to be anything wrong with what you did.

I just think people don't like being held to the commitments THEY made, or being called out on BS.

Im thinking he has tiny man syndrome, or you caught him on a bad day, or both. Either way you did nothing wrong

you should call him a sexist if the deal doesn't close.

you should call him a sexist if the deal closes as well.

Fuck him. As a fellow Lady-Savage I will never put up with someone telling me I'm aggressive. Am I aggressive or are you "triggered" by assertive language, Chad? Shit or get off the pot. It's called a funnel for a reason, move the fuckers out that don't belong in there and add them back in when there is a chance they make it through the bottom. (Sorry, I'm straight out of patience today...)

I said no, but it has nothing to do with you needing to be polite and everything to do with my personal experience.

You were fine.

I tend to be polite, but when its a lead I know is going no where and/or an irate lead, I push even harder because I know they will either fold and buy, or hang up. Either way is a win.

People hate being held to commitments. More often than not when a customer calls you aggressive, you were just trying to hold them to a commitment they made or get them to quit ghosting you.

brush it off and keep rolling forward. At least now you know that person was never gonna buy anyway and you can make room in your pipe for someone who may be a buyer.

Only when I remind them what they told me their reasons are for needing something in the context of why it has to be in X timeframe.
