Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
I think this is pretty common for sales savages that have built broader networks. The real problem is deciding if you want that job or not.

Always a real problem. There are so many variables to compare, and conversations to have.ย  That said, it's also always good to know that if a pivot is necessary, there will be one available.

I've been offered 2 positions where one I was happy where I was and while greener pastures are tempting, if you have a good thing it's almost always better to stick with it...the other was a management position that I was not in the right mindset/life place for at the time.

Personal/professional network is the most important thing to cultivate and feed to find the best opportunities over time in my book

A couple times, if you're counting being straight on recruited to a role.ย  They found me each time via Linkedin, referral or a combination.ย ย

True story - got an email from the company's HR saying "thanks for your application- we'd like to talk!" Had never applied, my remote assistant had never applied on my behalf. They sent that email to my Yahoo address which hasn't been on my resume since 2009? Only thing I could guess was that they had gotten my info from an old resume with CyberCoders? Who knows. I was intrigued, started the interview process, and got an offer. Accepted it b/c it was Covid and I needed a gig. 8 months later 100% regretted it and started counting down the days until I could quit. Nightmare "Unicorn" org. Now I'm stuck holding 15 months' worth of vested options - PRAYING for a 1/2 way decent acquisition that can't come soon enough.
