Have you ever left tech sales for a bit and then came back to tech sales?

I have an opportunity to do real estate acquisitions for a friend's real estate investment group. I love tech and tech sales, and am nervous to take the RE role because it may alter my career path in tech sales. But I also love real estate and intend to be an RE investor. My friends RE role offers no base and benefits, but 10% per acquisition. On average you earn 5k per acquisition and he averages 3 - 5 acquisitions per month. He also has a lead gen team that sends good quality leads. The owner of the RE group studied engineering in college like me and got an MBA from a top 10 school. He is probably the most similar adult I have ever met to me in terms of personality, interests and identity. I decided to focus on tech sales for now and say no to the Acquisitions role. It came down to stability and career path. I'm very young and less than 2 years out of university. I'm wondering if anyone has left tech sales and then came back into it.

Have you ever left tech sales for a bit and then came back to tech sales?

Once I started, I never left but I didn’t get into tech right away.

Agreed. The situation is wildly messy, and seems to just get more and more tangled the longer it goes on.
