Have you seen a noticeable increase in expectations/pressure from the valuation soar we're seeing?

Typically, startups with higher valuations also have higher targets to deliver.

Have you seen a noticeable trickling-down effect of that pressure/expectation all the way down to the sales and/or other revenue teams? Please comment :)

The least important month/quarter was always the last, while the most important is always this one. Pressure does seem to be rising with valuations and money flowing for free for M&A etc.

Sales is the growth engine...you're going to get pressure no matter what you do. Get a 100M round? You better believe you are under the gun to perform for the new ring masters.

Investors want their money back. Happy faces, beers and snacks in the kitchen are a smoke show. They want you to hit the phone, sell and get daddy his money back.

No marketing, mayo isn't an MQL
Investors always want that uptick 📈 - they will push founders to be more aggressive with growth plans especially if they're considering giving more money.

So yeah big dollar = more peeps = more expectations

Yes, but part of that in my experience is because it has become trendy to double quotas year to year without actually addressing the pipeline funnel to accommodate them.

Higher valuation stems from past success, large total addressable market, healthy deal flow. The capital raised is typically to invest in sales and marketing, why wouldn't expectations go up with more resources?
