Headphones

The War Room style Beats look sick as hell. Can you use them for Teams meetings?

If not I need headset recommendations. I feel like I'm yelling at my laptop and people can't hear me. Also my ear buds only work with my phone. I have tiny ears so I haven't found ear buds that haven't hurt my tiny ear holes. Yup. I said it .

I need help! What works the best savages?

Do you have a preferred headset?

Yep... I use them regularly for client zoom meetings. Although... if it is a particularly important client meeting, i will dial-in the old fashioned way. with the new iOS, my airpod pros switch somewhat seamlessly between macbook and iphone.

I wish the pros had a lot more noise canceling.  Other than that they're perfect.

Maybe you need to change the rubber tips to fit better? I can walk in downtown and barely hear the traffic, and literally cannot hear someone next to me trying to talk to me.

AirPods Pro! I changed the rubber tips to find the best noise cancelling fit. They come with 3 or 4 options I believe. Plus, if you use an iPhone the integration is just amazing and the hands free stuff you can do is great.

It’s not the noise canceling for me, it’s for whoever I’m meeting with or taking to. The AirPod pro microphones don’t cancel out any background noise.

Oh, yeah you are absolutely right about that. They pick up virtually all background noise.

@StickToTheProcess so the AP are noisy?

@CuriousFoxThe microphone on the AirPods picks up a lot of background noise, but it cancels out that noise for you. So you might not hear things, but if the background is noisy the person on the other end will likely hear that noise. If I'm at a store with loud music, its hard for the person on the other end to hear me over the music, but I likely wouldn't hear the music much if at all.

Only tough thing about the pros is battery life on a busy day... I’ve been left scrambling for a quick charge but other than that, they are the best out there

If your Finance/HR team are sticklers and won't approve AirPods for reimbursement for whatever reason (eyeroll), would go with Jabra Evolve 75 UC

Any time I am on with someone who uses Airpods, it honestly sounds pretty crappy.  Airpods are great for personal use, but not professional. (edit: sounds like they are talking into a microphone that is covered up by something or are yelling down a hall way).  If you are looking for a professional headset, go with Plantronics Voyageur Focus UC (I got it on Amazon for around $115 I think).  I have used several different headsets have found it to be the most reliable and effective, without breaking the bank.  I will say that I hear good things about Blue Parrott in fairness though.

What ever you do, do not get Bose quiet comfort. I have them and it picks up any little noise from the background and amplifies it. It is such a pain.

I've owned a pair of Backbeats for 5+ years, the padding is starting to tear on the ear, and I'm 100% intending to just buy the newest version of the same thing when I replace them.

They have other's that are smaller and better to use during the work day or even designed just for phone/video calls.

I don't understand the airpods love, they sound like dogshit and can't keep in ear for runs/ the gym etc. Was never a beats guy but the power beats pro sound a million times better, stay on, and have the same connectivity with apple products as airpods.

I don’t have a problem with hurting my ears. And I don’t really use teams. But in theory, once you pair to your laptops Bluetooth, you should be able to select them as a source, same as any platform.

That said, I WFH in an office...so if I’m using my laptop, it’s usually just the built in mic, no headset at all. Never gotten a complaint or had an issue.

I'm a Samsung Galaxy guy, so not an AirPod user. I have a Plantronics DECT biaural headset that connects to my laptop and cell. The DECT ones from Poly (formerly Plantronics) are amazing; terrific battery life and range. I can walk all over the house, the backyard, etc and still stay connected to my LT or phone located upstairs in my office.

I used Airpods and then switched to the Pros last year - took some adjusting but the Noise Cancelling feature is a game changer when WFH and having three kids in the background. Like any Bluetooth device, you can sync them to your laptop and they work with everything (Zoom, Teams, Slack, GTM, Webex....).

I have the Sony WH-1000XM4 Headphones for when I used to travel which is like 400 years ago. They are awesome and comfortable but my ears heat up after 2/3 hours. But if you are looking for battery life they are definitely awesome for that and you can always plug in if needed.
