HELP - time management

*disclaimer* - total sales noob.

Work in a smaller business with a bunch of cautious long-standing employees. Have been moved to sales as I've been told I'm a "driver" and "mover-and-shaker" amongst other labels that mean I push a bit harder than some others. Basically it's sink or swim from me.

Total noob to it all, and keeping track of a bunch of long-cycle project sales is a new challenge.

Any advice for managing time and tasks, or tips/trackers/tools would be a huge save.

some background: We do projects - average sale cycle over 12months, we use hubspot (only just put into the company)

Hello, hello! Happy to help here. Can you answer these questions for me?

1) Quota: Monthly, Quarterly, Annual?
2) Sales motion: Outbound-heavy, or do you have inbound support? How much?
3) How much experience do you have with sales in general?

Thanks PBC.
1) Quarterly.
2)Sales is outbound focused, there is a marketing calling team member but 70% of outbound still done by us
3) Limited - about a year. Have been an estimator (construction) for 4 years in the same company, so was sales teams primary assistant in sales and sales strat that time. Got a taste for it and the incumbent left so here I am.

Been there before being thrown into my first sales position. I would recommend figuring out the highest priorities first and focusing on that. Of course you can use a CRM but that’s up to the companies investment. I would make an excel of my biggest opps/deals and then go from there. Best of luck and I know you will knock it out of the park!

Time blocking is always a great first step. If you doing outbound calls for example, block the time in your calendar and stick to it. 60, 90, 120 minutes, whatever it is, put it in your calendar and treat that time like you would a client meeting. Its not easy but it can certainly help.

Appreciate it, have been working on that, but timely reminder to stick with it.
