I used to work at an office with one of these contraptions. It’s basically a tabletop mounted to a treadmill.

They’re ridiculous.

Try typing an email while walking on one. You will be put off immediately.

Yeah reallllly tough. Maybe if you're in a meeting and just talking, but not for working. A standing desk/taking a good break now and then is much better

I had a treadmill desk for a bit. It's great if you know when/how to use it.

Don't go faster than 2 mph. I know it seems slow but anything else and you look absurd and get out of breath.

Get a real treadmill desk, not just a treadmill. The motors in treadmill desks are designed for low speeds and long usage.

Use it when you're an inactive participant on a call. It's hard to write emails, carry on calls, run demos, etc. when walking.

I would add an extra 2-3 miles a day with the treadmill desk by walking for 60-90 minutes.

I don’t think I could properly work with a treadmill desk. The only time I would use it is if I’m on a call but I could just pace around my home office and get similar results. I do enjoy my standard sit down/stand up desk.

You can get a cheap manual one (where you adjust the height by turning a handle) at most big box stores. I got mine for 200$ at Ikea. I wasn't sure I would like it so I didn't really want to spend more.
