High-Ticket Remote Closing

Hey all,

Wanted to put out an initial post here to see how many other remote closers in the high-ticket space are out there?

If you're unfamiliar, remote closing is usually inbound sales where you are closing a prospect on buying a course, mentorship, or consulting program. Think of the online gurus out there that sell a $5-25K mastermind program to develop a skill or help a business grow. You're closing people into these programs.

Usually you're making 10-15% commission and doing 4-6 calls per day. Income potential is 8-10K/month if you're average but I've had months where I've done $20K or more.

Edit: and $20K/month consistently is definitely doable.

The sales cycle is really short too, which is definitely a perk.

I could go more into it but wanted to see how many other sales savages on here are in the same space!

Sounds like something I would take on as a side gig if I weren't married with kids.

I really need to get a better understanding of the work expectations and income potential in SaaS.

If I may pry, What're you doing/making now that you'd consider $10-20K/month a side gig?

At the rate I'm going by December my income break dow should be around 30k/mo. I should also mention I started this position in November so it's not like I've been at this company selling this product for years.

I like the safety net of a salary. I live based on my salary and nearly all of my commissions gets saved/invested. I'll treat myself to a new firearm or something on occasion when I'm stateside.

If you told me I could make 30k a month with your company but I had an offer with 150k base plus commission elsewhere, I'd take the sure thing. Guaranteed income is better than potential income for me personally.

That's why I would see that as more of a side gig. Something to do with time I have to spare that has big potential upside but because I already have a good paying job there's almost no downside.

I'm not married and don't have kids, so how much of a factor do you think that plays into it?

I was just talking to my CPA how he often notices that when his clients get kids, it's all about the "sure thing" and safety, as you mentioned.

Also, your income is great. Would love to know more about your career path.

I'm in Canada and SaaS gigs with $30K/month potential like yours are a needle in a haystack.

I've been looking at USA job opportunities also.

It's literally the deciding factor. I'm not typically a risk adverse person. But as a father and a husband there are now other people that can suffer if the risk doesn't pay off. I don't mind putting myself through pain but I don't want to put the ones who depend on me through it.

If I had gotten into sales before I met my wife I would probably have a bank account 3 times larger than what it currently is because I'm okay tightening my belt and going without in order to save a ton of money. I'm not comfortable making my family go without. Plus, it's a good feeling being able to provide a life for my family full of comforts I didn't have growing up.

As far as my career path I have bounced around a bit in the SaaS space. Every time I changed companies I got better pay. Where I am now doesn't have a base worth dreaming about. It's nice but could be better. I just happen to sell shit that people in my industry know they need so I do quite well with commissions.

Ain't that the truth. So much harder to tighten the family's belt when you know damn well that it's better economically. If it was just me, I wouldn't spend shit on myself.

I’m in that space right now! First three gigs I got absolutely sucked. They straight up lied about the lead flow. Starting my fourth tomorrow, and it should finally be legit. But I’m also looking to get an SDR job I can do so I have an easy-ish salary job and then some potential for eventually getting to 20K/mo

this is the way.
i've discovered that you gotta have a day job to pay the bills (unless you live with mom and pops) until the high-ticket gig starts producing.

Because, man: business owners LIE. Straight up lie. About lead flow. About ramp time. About why the last closer left. About their product and how many happy customers they have (if they don't have a bunch of video testimonials in their funnel already, BEWARE). Etc.

I agree with SaaSam. Sounds like a great side gig that I could easily do along side my full time role. Assuming something like this is legit which I doubt it is. Every time I hear someone talk about it, it sounds very similar to an MLM pitch minus the multi-level part.

I used to think this before I got into high-ticket sales.
Having been a high-ticket sales guy (and revops guy for high-ticket sales orgs) for awhile now, I can tell you that it's definitely legit.

But it IS like the early "Wild West" days of corporate sales (think Salesforce 2 to 3 years in, just before the SDR/AE specialization happened).

There are a lot of young kids with no business experience STILL making 20k/month. They make the money but don't necessarily have the business acumen and professionalism to go along with.

tl;dr High ticket sales is super legit if you're a great seller

Been there, done that. You may get some hate here for being in that space.

Like yourself, I've made good money but my goals were to eventually close enterprise-sized deals and that could never happen due to the nature of the high-ticket sales.

Most folks on here are on the corporate b2b side typically in tech/saas, I've made the switch myself recently.

We'll see how corporateland plays out for me, but its good and rare to meet another savage from the commission only side

That's cool. Appreciate the reply.

All I've ever known is 100% commission-only. Truthfully, the corporate B2B sounds super high-stress with a lot of micromanagement and not a lot of time-freedom.

Do you find that to be the case?

I've even looked at getting into residential solar just because the autonomy of being a 1099 and the income potential has some appeal.

Haven't experienced micromanagement yet,  I think it could be super high stress for someone that hasn't seen the other side like you and I have. tbh idgaf if they canned me today I could be in another commission-only role by the end of the week

Autonomy is huge though, like you said, there is definitely something that is freeing on a spiritual level when you're able to generate your own money.

If anything, I did vibe a lot better in my previous role vs my co-workers now. Corporate speak is cringe af to me, folks speak like their balls are in a vice.

It sounds like you're doing very well with it as is. I can see why you would see B2B sapping some of your time freedom. That's one upside to commish only I suppose.

I'm in residential solar right now and you have to be careful that you pick the right company and platform.
But I've got plenty of friends making 30k/mo in solar and a few making 100k+/month.

I *thought* I wanted to be an enterprise rep when I was working in the Salesforce ecosystem, but I realize now that I wanted it for the same reason I originally wanted to be a lawyer: for the prestige.

The enterprise reps I met that were doing 300k to 500k per year at Salesforce didn't have the chops to start and run a business, or even to be a growth consultant (advising companies on scaling revenue). They were really good at a certain type of sale (e.g. navigating buying committees at big companies, building relationships) and at navigating internal politics (to get the best territories in midmarket which allowed them to blow their numbers out and make President's Club then move to enterprise, getting the best accounts in enterprise).

I wouldn't do the 100% commission thing except as a side gig were I not married, like @SaaSam stated. (No kids yet, only a week in)

But congrats, you're killing it! Especially in Canada

IM confused by what you are asking.....the description you are describing is not "high ticket sales" IMO.

Are you looking to see who in Saas fits into that description/ ?

Or if there are ppl in Saas that work remote that are true high ticket closers?

No, was just curious who here in the community was in that space. The first reply about how most people here are in SaaS answered my question

correct.

What are the reputable names?  I don't know that many, apart maybe for Grant Cardone stuff.

I'm curious as I am also in Canada and make about 8K/month, base and commish included before taxes.  Nothing to rave about here (and I darn work at least 50hrs a week on this job).

There are people who give high-ticket sales a bad name, and Dan Lok is CERTAINLY one of them.

For more reputable names check out videos (e.g. sales training) by Cole Gordon, and any youtube video by Nick Kozmin of salesprocess.io

Been a high-ticket closer for about 2 years.

Set and closed for my own offer, and for 3 others.

Currently on a solar offer which is crushing my dreams (amazing platform with 6k commish per deal, NO leads because the fb ads guy fucked off with our adspend and provided no leads)

Brutal. What I've noticed is that so much of an individual's success in this space is dependent on external factors. Right now I'm on a B2C offer but realizing this isn't the right fit!

Ironically, I'm looking at solar but as a closer in a direct-to-home model with a bunch of friends and former colleagues. Money is good and time-freedom is great
