I don't see that as a red flag at all. I imagine they are evaluating different options, as any good salesperson should. If you really really want them, give them an offer that they can't refuse

I agree with this. However Iโ€™d be remiss if I didnโ€™t bring up The Godfather ๐Ÿท

I personally find this a bit annoying. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Same concept of when you send over a contract and someone has authority to sign but they donโ€™t until the very last second. Brings out all my insecurities and makes me wonder why they wait.

I get what your saying but think of it as them just doing their due-diligence. You don't want someone to sign blindly. They should be able to go through all the terms in the contract before they have to sign. I always ask for more time to go over the offer before I sign

If you make an offer, I would at least let them have 72 hours to overthink it and discuss it with their close friends/familyย

Iโ€™m not a hiring manager. But whatnot find annoying is hiring managers only giving you 24/48h.ย

Everyone has different personal circumstances...if you set a deadline, then signing quickly or later...shouldn't make a diff if the deadline is still met....there are some many variables when it comes to insurance contributions, 401K matching, equity calculations etc...having a bit of time to review / fully understand and ensure best fit for your personal scenario is prudent. Most companies want their staff to make considered decisions in their roles....no diff for candidates....plus in this day/age, we're all culprits of over-thinking...if I sign immediately, does that show desperation...if I take too long, will that be interpreted as being indecisive...you can't win.
