Hiring Top Talent

Listen -

This could be the most generic post of all time BUT the SaaS company that I work for is growing like crazy (raise your hand if you have heard that before) and are having an impossible time finding highly motivated sales reps.

Any tips from the War Room on how you or others have found success recruiting talent?

I'm highly motivated if I'm compensated FAIRLY. Statements like this from corporations rub me the wrong way.

Honestly, hate to say it, but I can sell fucking anything to fucking anyone.  Pay me well, and don't make working at your company equivalent to pulling teeth; i.e. clean up operations so trying to move product isn't a fucking nightmare, then go count your money in Jamaica because I'll make you very rich.

More money, solves more problems.

Offer a real path to AE that is written out and ideally faster than your competition.

Real training and development.

And more fucking money.

As everyone else has mentioned... money! But here is why. If you pay a high base, there is more to lose if you fuckin suck at your job. Even a so so sales guy is going to bust his has to improve his skills and put in the work if he knows he won't find another company with better pay.

High pay, low quota, good territory, solid supporting team around them, nice perks. Dont hold the punches. You want them go get them and give them what they want.

I think when companies say things like “motivated sales reps” they have this visual of Baldwin in Boiler Room. The same types of folks refer to sellers as “coin operated”. Growing companies need to realize that the world around them is changing, and the modern seller looks and cares about very different things
