Manager threatened to fire me if I didn’t close more deals when i was top of the leaderboard in my team.

I quit a couple of weeks afterwards once I found a new gig.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I had the same situation, found out my director said I'd be gone if I didn't close more (after 2 years of consistent high performance) in a management meeting, was told straight after by a colleague what had been said.

Signed a new contract 8 days later with a new company.

Don't mess around kids.

One of my close friends has been the top performer in his company two years in a row and his sales manager has recently started pestering him about not making enough cold calls. Lol.

Hah! Man I have a good one here.

The year was 2017, I just got promoted to a national sales manager, and reported directly to the CEO. She purged the whole fucking office except me and made me restaff, create onboarding documents, and set up an office over in LA to compliment our NY HQ.

This was in January. Fast forward to June, Im sitting steady running to US and EMEA market for a total gain of 47% over from last year, SHE PURGES THE OFFICE A SECOND TIME! Saying my team was not good enough, nor was she hitting the growth she expected. Only this time she was a total B**** about it. My days got longer, and this time she took over the hiring. In an attempt to run things her way, which is fine she was the ceo.

But it doesnt stop there. She hired this one guy as a VP, he was 21, 0 years in sales or operations, literally fresh out of college and the most stuck up SOB you can imagine. Me, naturally feeling pissed off and stepped on, decided to speak up, I was told it doesnt concern ne,

A litte more background- after the second ourge I was alone handling all operations and financials. This man coordinates an inventory transfer, looses over 125k units, because he has 0 experience, just a fancy degree. Costs the company to almost go belly up, I somehow managed to get us to break even with our A/R and revoking credit terms from key accounts.....

All this, and guess who got blamed? This guy!

Insane. Lots of crazies at the top blinded by their own ego, it seems.

Nothing crazy, but had a manager that did not understand the CRM, so another SDR and I had to do his work for him. He took all the credit, naturally. Constantly reworked our quotas too at the end of the month and basically made up numbers for our commission checks. Unfortunately this is just the tip of the iceberg...

Currently dealing with one who is so polarizing that it cost us 7 incredible employees. In my previous job, I had one that was so neurotic that if you approached them with issues or problems, they just complained about their own. Both exhibit zero empathy.

I asked a question to clarify a statement with a Managing Director from one of the regions I looked after. I wasn't the only one that was asking for clarification. He told me I was "defiant" of his authority. Lol. He was an A+ egotistical, micro-manager, know-it-all, misogynist A********

My first day as an SDR, I asked my manager a question. He pointed to his head phones and couldn't respond to me because he was listening to his favorite song. Oh and all of our 1:1's were discussing our favorite musicians and favorite colors. I like Britney Spears. We didn't have much in common.

"CRO" bombed my ENT deal (2.4mm) by jumping in halfway through and accusing the consultants who referred us in as liars to the prospect (they weren't, he was new and had no idea what we were talking about)....they called me after fuming and said they are recommending the client pull us out of the mix

He needed that deal to make his team number and when this happened he fired me and told me to quit sales.

oh yea and he was loaded on coke when he did this 😂

He got fired a week later... you live and you learn

CRO repeatedly told reps he thought they got paid too much. Also didn’t know what SDRs did and had to ask...often.

That level of imposter syndrome is aspirational.
