It's complicated because your SFDC admins have made it complicated. Speaking from experience.

They will be your best friend, and vice versa. It can be very clunky but itโ€™s as good as you make it.

As someone who helps fix bad SFDC implementations for a living, THIS, SO MUCH THIS
Just a modicum of discovery and planning before implementing changes will do wonders for usability, but this requires your IT team/Sales Ops to have enough backbone to tell leadership to justify their CRM asks

We are switching over ASAP to SFDC Lightning from Classic? What level of hell are we in for?

100% disagree. Salesforce is an amazing product, innovative company, and Marc Benioff is a visionary.

I don't -- and I never would. Heard it's a grind with tiny territories. Just a huge admirer of what they've accomplished. Behind the Cloud is a classic:ย  https://www.amazon.com/Behind-Cloud-Salesforce-com-Billion-Dollar-Company/dp/0470521163

I second this notion. Hubspot is king in my opinion

99% of issues I am guessing you are facing can probably be resolved by your admin team- they get a blank slate and configure it how they wantย

As others have said, if youre SFDC is too complicated its because your admins set it up like an asshole. It doesnt have to be that wayย

Having used other CRMs, NGL I'm a fan of SFDC.ย  Why am i using so many acronyms?ย ย

As a sales Newby, it seems everyoneโ€™s comp plan requires a minimum use of 5 acronyms per email/conversation. Also everyone wants me to watch them shower for some reason

Their CRM can be clunky, but a lot of that may be due to how your company setup your instances.ย

I keep hearing itโ€™s about how admins set it up but I hate this shit too. Iโ€™m convinced the only people who like it are the people who are selling it. We even had some guy come and present about how easy it would be and how Einstein will change our lives. 2 years into it and Einstein isnโ€™t ever correct and theyโ€™re still manually calculating our quota achievement on excel ๐Ÿ˜‚

Two years ago we had more admins of Salesforce than sales people. Today we just have 1 SFDC admin and zero sales people. Result!

salesforce can be incredibly simple and a useful tool. Too many companies just let have too many people give input on what they want reps to log, which causes it to be clunky, too much to fill out, and too hard to find what you're looking for.ย

^^^^ This! We went to SFDC two years ago. I counted 200 fields that were available to sales when all I wanted to do was enter a name, email, name of company, job title and some notes.

I challenge you to try Oracles embarrassment of a CX product and then tell me how you feel about SFDC. Also depends on how it was implemented.

I'm passionate about my dislike for Salesforce too. It's just the tool allows way too much configuration flexibility, and when put in the wrong hands, it's a monster.

I got one for free, used it twice, went back to my war room yeti. I donโ€™t let my coffee sit there for hours so it was pointless for me, but maybe if you are a glacially slow drinker they are worth it?
