How are our SaaS guys/gals hanging in there right now?

There seems to always be more bad news about the tech sector, today it was another round of layoffs being announced. How are those of you in the space handling all of this upheaval?

Feel free to use this thread as an outlet, a shoulder to lean on, a place to share intel on companies still hiring, and more. We have a large network here that can bring a lot of value to other salespeople separate from the type of services or companies you sell for or sell to.

I've said this maybe on 4 different threads, and I never mean for it to come across as braggadocious, but I'm not the least bit worried. My company is owned and run by an intelligent guy. We're bootstrapped, beyond profitable, and surpassing revenue goals month over month.

That being said, I wish we were hiring more sales folks so as to help some of you that have been laid off by lesser companies, but the need isn't there yet.

My CEO always talks about building your company with the client's money. It's slower to start but better than laying off half of our workforce because we are beholden to VCs.

That is a good spot to be in, and in the rush to be the next WeWork/Uber/Etc. the focus on growth through ridiculous valuations and fundraising seemed to become the only way anyone wanted to do anything in the software space. Glad to hear things are still strong for you and the team!

Our CEO is a smart dude and enjoys building companies which I'm sure is why he's not in any hurry to find funding or anything

That’s exactly what my company does. We are set up to only expand as we bring more customers on. It makes the ARR growth mandatory, but we get enough cash flow to keep the business running

Had 2 great meetings today and my SDR booked 2 new calls. Great Monday to be in cloud security.

Who were the layoffs today? I've been slammed.

I don't recall the specific companies, just the news about how layoffs have continued to accelerate last week with more expected this week. I'm tech "adjacent" so less up to speed on the specifics of the market.

I saw some big percentage of Coinbase (no surprise) was laid off today via email.

thankfully im in a great spot.

the company is super well funded and there are only 2 AEs that run everything (im one of them). The division is of high priority to the company so they will not be looking to cut costs here.

i feel bad for AEs in companies that have recently hired like 40+ AEs and 100 SDRs those guys are in trouble.

That is a good position to be in, one of two people looked to lead revenue growth is a very valuable spot. Be sure to use some of that leverage at the right time!

Don't be a dunce and work for shit companies and you'll be fine.

No one that is a top performing AE in a company that is solving a legitimate challenge is at risk.

If you're a bottom half performer at a direct mailing company then don't be surprised when the boss takes the opportunity to cut your ass

I work for a super small company that desperately needs to grow and sell more.

As the top performing person there, I’m fine. As someone with a low base pay facing rising personal expenses and credit card debt, I’m not.

I’ve started looking already but the market is dry and competitive. Not to mention I’m an Enterprise AE but in order to be hired somewhere else with the same title I need more than 1 year experience in SaaS.

Just made the jump from SMB to enterprise SaaS which even I'm still shocked about. What's your advice to someone new to this side of the game?
