How competitive is your sales org?

I'm an SDR at a medium sized company with 800 people. There's about 20 people on our SDR team and I would say it's slightly competitive here. It will get more competitive after promoted into an AE role. I am competitive and I do best in competitive environments.

I can't speak for biz dev, but I can tell you the AEs here truly help each other out. Yes we are competitive, but mostly with ourselves.

Not cutthroat at all. No one is trying go poach other peoples accounts/ops. But everyone wants to be on top and they run spiffs for the first couple people that hit 125% to plan on the year.

That's a great spiff. Can you hint at who the company is? :-)

I help my colleagues and am happy for them to do well. I just want to do better that’s all.

I love that approach. I feel the same way because when they do better and are higher on the dashboard it makes me do better.

Hypercompetitive in a healthy way. We all want to be top of the leaderboard, but celebrate each other's successes and give credit when it's due.

That's great. I'd prefer to be in a hypercompetitive environment. Can you hint at the sales org? :-)

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
We actually get comped as a collective (small team, team's known each other for years and actually requested it) so it's the most collaborative environment possible.

In the past, it's been a mixed bag. I think quite a few of the best AEs help other AEs. People who don't help others also don't get helped and don't get the idea diffusion.

That's pretty awesome. I definitely feel inclined to help reps and new reps, because more tenured reps took the time to help me. That's pretty special to be with a group that's known each other for years! I haven't known my team for that long of a time, but I feel close with them because we all go to battle with each other everyday.

Our group is small, especially for the quota we carry collectively. Because of that the team has self selected into specialities and leads to strong collaboration. It’s the best sales org I’ve been a part of.

That's pretty awesome to hear. Can you hint at the org's name? :-)

one of the things I love about my company is that we are genuinely hoary for each other when we close big deals. we've expanded a lot since I started so I don[t know as many people and feel that camaraderie like I do with some, but it is definitely not cut throat. I want everyone to succeed just me to a little more than others.

Ours is Definitely competitive and ambitious
That being said, people help each other. Coach and support and train new joiners with not much of an ego or insecurity

I find being competitive can be a fine line to toe so you don't burn out

Honestly, I’d prefer wine or a 1:1 with different people...
