How do I start an Outbound Relationship Sales?

I know that "stalking" might be a way of doing it.. but how do we get out fo the shadows without being intrusive?

This is always a tough balance. You don't wanna come in and be all "Saw your son was wearing a red baseball cap on his way to school today, how cute!" ... cuz yanno, creepy.

But using information gleaned from social media can help spark what I like to think of as "planned serendipity."

For example, if I see someone is a Democrat who posts about political issues a fair bit on Twitter, I'll causally drop in a "Prior to my role in sales, I worked on the Obama Campaign in DC."

9/10 times they say: "wow thats amazing I'm a huge fan blah blah.." and relationship is builtΒ

That's awesome @sahil. Thank you!

Please, do you use Sales Navigator or direct LinkedIn feed for it?

What works for me is if the prospect went to the same school or lived in the same area as I did before - often just chatting about the covid situation works too

Yeah.. creating a sense of rapport works as well.. but I see that the bottom line is establishing genuine communication as a friend. That's great! Thank you!

If you join a SaaS company and thrive at the beginning due to inbound leads and good SDR and then sales start going down due to a change of SDR and less inbounds, does that mean you’re not a competent sales person or does it mean it’s time to move on to another company?
