While management is typically seen as a top down relationship, managing up to your managers is mission-critical to long-term success.

It’s in the expectation setting. Understanding how your supervisor works and how best to support them. It keeps you both aligned by defining this is your 1:1’s. That way you know where you stand. I’d bring an agenda to every 1:1. Being proactive and asking, what you can do better. On the flip side, if you make this a consistent practice it’s likely your mgr will catch on and hopefully ask what they can do to support you.
