Remember that cold calls = cold hard cash. Can't think of anything more motivating than that.

Also remembering that even though cold calling sucks and even the best salespeople don't like it - the worst thing that can happen is that someone says no or hangs up. Who cares. On to the next one!

Oh I loathe it. Pre-covid when I could cold call in person? I lived for that! I think I dislike phone calls in general 🤷‍♀️

Make a little competition for yourself to see how many "NO's" you can get in x amount of time. The "Yes's" always follow close behind.

This will help boost your activity, while also taking a negative of the cold calling process and turning it into a tiny mental positive. That positive energy will build on itself and translate through the phone and will generate results.

Set prospecting hours every day, and hold yourself accountable to dedicating strictly that, prospecting.  If you set 2-hours a day making non-stop calls - absolutely no breaks - your meeting numbers will sky-rocket.

After 3-days of this, your confidence will transfer & your authority will be more appreciated by the prospect.  If you try this, and it doesn't work, I'd like to see your pitch.

Yes! I’m going to do this the next couple of days! And taking you up on showing my script to you if it doesn’t work at all! But hoping it doesn’t come down to that

Are you talking results or the act of putting in activity of cold calling?

If you are referring to getting in the activity, I like to gamify the process for myself.  For example, I like to see what my ratios are of success calls vs. non success calls.  I view success as making any sort of progress on getting important info like the decision maker's contact info, finding out lease info, current equipment info etc.

More along the lines of not having much success, or just burnt out

Variety is key to stop burnout. Gamifying it is great & even better if you have a colleague to compete with. Try printing out all the names and numbers on a sheet of paper and making dials with your screen off. Make calls outside. Make calls inside. Make calls drinking coffee. 8am calls. 6pm calls. Get one laugh from a prospect every 20 mins or you gotta tattoo Corps face on your leg. Keep it interesting!

Pickup the phone.

You can't get out of the rut unless you just do.  There's really no way around it.

Have a shitty paycheck when your job is contingent on cold calling, if that doesn't help you're screwed.

If it's low reach to set ratio, I make it a priority to role-play with people on my team. That way I can hear a lot of objections before dialing and if I encounter them live it isn't the first time I have heard them that day.

I played a lot of basketball growing up, and my mantra was always 'shoot when you're on, and shoot when you're off.'  That said, I've found that the way out of a cold-calling rut is to make some more cold calls.  Simple, yet magical in my own experience.

grind on, its the only way. We all slump but its building dominoes, they will start to topple in a good way eventually. Lay the ground work and keep digging

Use markers for selection of contacts on as much of your prospecting as you can.

A marker can be: “they use a competitor” “this person moved into leadership in the last 90 days” “they use a tool we integrate with” “they used to work at a current customers company but left” etc.

if you have a reason to get excited for the call then it’s way easier to make them. Also all of these sources tend to convert at a much higher rate.
