How do you keep informed on the tech space?

Whatsup savages!
Curious what avenues y'all are using to keep up to date with changes in the tech space. I see it as a competitive advantage being able to determine what the next "big" thing is, whether for career charting or for investing but would love to hear everyone's hot takes on this🤘

so i follow specific people who have knowledge and opinions I value. This is from linked in or podcasts.

BUT

unless you are in some sort of position of knowledge that many ppl are not, I would doubt you can use that approach to understand what will be a "big" thing before anyone else. (especially when it comes to investing)

In addition to the other suggestions, look at the VC's and what they're investing in. Their entire job is to find 'the next big thing'. Watching where they put their money is usually a good data point, especially in a business environment like right now. You know that for the most part, every dollar invested has gone through a lot of scrutiny. That alone tells you something if they're putting in $50M or $100M somewhere.

You can find this info pretty readily on Crunchbase and other sites like it.

Yes this is my primary method as well, looking at VC thought leadership and where their money is going. I’m concerned with LI and Twitter because they’re run by marketing selling snake oil for the most part…

Follow the top incubator programs and see what they are investing in. These are usually seed or a stage so a risky bet but worth following.
