How do you keep potential candidates engaged without an immediate job opening?

Managing employee turnover is always a challenge. To ensure I am not caught off guard when an AE decides to leave or we have to let them go, I try to maintain a "stable" of candidates who would be great backfills for the position.

I am interested to hear how you keep qualified candidates engaged and interested in working at your company when there might not be an immediate job opening.

Treat your hiring funnel like you might treat a prospecting funnel.ย

Some won't be good candidates at any time... Some are just not a good fit right now. For the latter category, you can get them on a drip campaign, maintain relationships on a personal level (e.g. LinkedIn connection, offering to give feedback on their interview/resume), etc.

When you have your LinkedIn account set to "open to work" and recruiters reach out all the time do you take the mindset of "I need to sell myself for this role" OR "The recruiter needs to sell the role to myself?"
