How do you motivate a team with low morale?

I started working for a new company a couple of weeks ago and quickly realized that our team lacks motivation, and money is definitely not the root cause of this situation. Taking this into account, how do you motivate a team with low morale?

First of all, you need to address the problem, is it lack of transparency? if not what it? second let them know you are aware of the problem and are looking to find a way to solve it. Third let the team be part of the change, let them feel part of the organization and that their voices where heard and they are important!

Trust is a biggie. Learn from the team what's going on internally and try to help them solve those problems.

If it isn't money, do you know what is? I think step # 1 is to figure out what is causing the grief. Could be lack of transparency, could be lack of faith in leadership, anything really.

It might be a lack of recognition, I'm still trying to figure that out.

Ooh. Yeah that will do it, we had that issue. We started weekly spiffs (no money attached) and the winners got a big org wide shoutout and like a WWE belt or something if I remember right until someone beat them. Not sure how to replicate that WFH but you get the point lol. Good news, is money is the hardest one to fix IMO. Recognition is easier.

Well why are they not motivated?
professional or personal ?
product?
growth opportunities?
bad leads?

Unequivocally, yes. When we spend time thinking of what is going wrong and trying to fix the micro, we forget that sales is a macro process. Get your head out of the weeds and complete the entire motion at scale.
