When I get the notification from DocuSign I let out a huge exclamation and fist pump. Then I parade around my condo for 10 minutes until I remember I'm at 10% of goal.
I was doing for a bit when I won a big deal Iโd buy a really nice bottle of wine but then I stopped and now it feels like a lame tradition. I wish I had a better one.ย
"The next deal is the best deal" kind of the mantra in my office. If you get hung up on one big deal, then you miss a few that were hiding in it's shadow. Stay focused and press on.ย
I'll bask in that elusive "yes" that we so clinically chase for a few minutes and even up to an hour just to enjoy not having to hear "no" for once. Then it's back to the phone to try to set a Discovery Meeting with a new prospect! What have you done for me lately is the reality of our business and once that deal closes it's no different from when a team wins a game. Enjoy it briefly, but we have to move on and prepare for the next one.
