How do you organize your email inbox?

Through covid and people constantly on virtual meetings sharing their screens, I’ve seen a number of different outlook inboxes from across my organization. Some are neat and tidy with folders for everything. And some are about as disorganized as my ADR’s tinder inbox. Unread emails from weeks ago, nothing deleted, nothing archived, etc.

Bit of both, got a ton of filters and folders but constantly have some slip through the cracks. Most of our clients send out automated emails with updates on every single position they have open so it's not uncommon to switch tabs and return to the inbox 5 minutes later with 50+ emails. Hard to stay organized with that!

I love chaos in my life. Disorganized mess relates perfectly to my inbox as well as my Personal life

It all retires to a folder. If it's in my Inbox, it means it's a task left for me to complete. I do my best to have 0 messages when I log off for dinner (though it never stays empty long lol)

Yup. I do the same thing. I create folders for each account, or email type and archive emails to their respective folder, as I complete the actions. If I have 0 emails in my inbox, I have 0 actions. Which is never the case, but always the goal!

Not sure how long you've been doing it - but it's easier to maintain than to get there. I definitely have weeks I don't hit the bottom, but I'd say 90% of the time we get there by Friday haha

Color-coded filters with many different criteria. I try to organize it as granularly as possible but Google doesn't have enough colors for me to choose from to separate. We need the full-color palette!

It's pretty clean. Sometimes I have too many folders and an email could go into any one of 4 so that makes it annoying.

I've always told myself it would be good to setup smart inboxes and filters...but never get around to it. That's what the search bar is for, right?

I have personalized folders as well as a slightly messy inbox. Happy medium.
