How do you ounce back from a down month?

First time missing monthly quota by a significant margin in over a year and definitely sucks.

Recognize the things that went wrong and put a plan in place to ensure that anything in your control doesn't happen again. If what happened was out of your control you just have to trust the process and get back on the horse for the upcoming month. Even star salespeople have missed quota, if it's your first time in a year it's likely not anything to worry about.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
Go work out, go drink, go watch a game, go do something that isn't work. It's work, not your actual life.

Take a step back and evaluate the down month(should do it after every month really)

Write down 3 things you felt you did well, 3 things you could've done better and also anything you feel like you could ask for more training and support on from your manager.

Take this to your boss and discuss it. Take ownership of your own growth

It's not that I think you need to double down and stay late, but you need to demonstrate that you're willing to. If you're not hitting targets you need to be able to show you have all the correct behaviours so that you can get "back on track"

It's a stats game, you can't have a monster quarter without the occasional dumpster dive.

My team sells SaaS and the way it’s setup is once an account is sold it is sent over to the onboarding team. The AEs should never have to touch that account again.
I like it this way because it allows our AEs to hunt and prospect and bring in new deals without babysitting those that have already signed up. Yes we do occasionally need to talk to customers we have signed up but our onboarding and customer service teams handle most of that.
