How do you recognize talent in a sales operations team?

Greetings to all members of the war room, who take the time to read this question. Lately I have been assigned the responsibility of enlightening and coaching a group of rookies. My strategy for developing their strengths and knowing their weaknesses has been to divide them into groups, assign them specific tasks and rotate the group leader each time the activity is accomplished.

I would like to ask if this type of process is still considered feasible or outdated?

We are in the era of the opening of new social channels. In this way, the sales department will be able to reach customers more easily, but also our Recruitment and Human Resources area can show employees an image of openness to dialogue and a commitment to new technologies.

For those outside of marketing or sales, a lead is a person or company that has demonstrated interest in the brand's offering by requesting additional information or doing research, etc.  Or, in more direct terminology, a potential customer.  When a lead arrives to the marketing or sales department, there is a deployment of efforts to discover what else the company can do to help this lead, offering useful content and a positive experience, so that he or she becomes a customer later on.

As you know, SEO is the acronym for Search Engine Optimization. It is a series of techniques to make it easier for the contents of a given web page to be found and appear in the top positions in search engines. It can be applied both to general search engines and to the internal search engines of job portals or corporate social networks.

The company's employee is now much more, has become a brand ambassador, and can generate more value for other candidates than any other talent attraction action. It is logical to think that a passive candidate who has no intention of changing jobs will be much more attracted to our company by listening to or reading the opinion of one of our employees than by reading the content of a job offer, no matter how well prepared it may be.

Online marketers are famous for knowing the tools they use to do their jobs better: whether it's scheduling updates on social media, or emailing the right content to the right person. HR 2.0 professionals also need to know how to identify the tasks that take up the most time and provide the least value.

Wellness and mental health are two of the most important factors that young workers today prioritize in their job search. They don't want to work for years and barely hang together for a paycheck. They want to be happy in the workplace, which means employers need to do more for their employees than just expect hard work for money. They also need to support their health and well-being.

Once you have marketed your company and your work culture, you can use more innovative tools to find the perfect fit for your company. Hiring the right person for the job creates a positive feedback loop where their contributions further enhance your work environment, and this will allow you to hire even better candidates in the future.

Just as there are trust signals that customers use to determine whether or not to trust your company, there are similar trust signals that candidates will look for. Awards that showcase your work culture are great, as are awards for your business in your industry that show you are innovative, driven and growing.

When you write job offers, write them as if you were explaining them to your ideal candidate. Imagine you have them in front of you and you have to convince them. The best candidates will ignore your offer if it is written in the third person, like "The selected candidate will have..." if I read... the selected candidate will do anything... I understand that it's not me! Talk to me, tell me: if you work with us, you will do this and you will do that.

How do marketers get the word out about products? They go looking for their target audience. They don't advertise everywhere and then complain that the contacts they get are bad. They optimize the channels where they put their efforts. You can do the same by recruiting.

If you know which channels work best according to the type of offer, you will always know where to publish your offers first. And not only publish, as we will talk about in a point to come, the first thing you have to do is to make your offer known among your employees, contacts and customers.

The best candidates, the ones who can help your company the most, are not willing to jump through any hoops in the application process. I'm talking about the hurdles that some recruiting ERP's put in place with lengthy forms or asking them to apply by sending their resume in an email.
This ERP or email address is what stands between your recruiters and brilliant candidates.
Remove these obstacles and install a tool that allows them to apply in less than a minute and from any device, so that no candidate will consider whether or not to apply because of your long form.

Why not have them work on the same focus so they can see how others think about it, and then coach them all at the same time on best practices? That way you can focus on one topic at a time rather than juggling multiple every week?
