Dedicated work space. If I'm just scrolling Reddit or something, I do it at a different place than where I work. It's a mind set thing

Same! It makes a big difference. No Youtube/other distractions at the work table. And no work on the bed even if it just came through. If it is important, then it's done with focus at the work table.

Totally agree - I have to move around the house to different work spots all day. I start on the patio fir daily stand up. Head into the kitchen for a few calls after that. Get a little formal in the office if I can kick my husband out for a few.ย

Absolutely same here. I'm getting to the point where i wonder whether I have any self-control, or whether it was just the peer pressure of my colleagues around me that made me work hard.

You need to eliminate distractions. Treating the place you work at home like you would as if you were in the office is huge.

Don't have the TV on.ย

Don't work in the same place you eat / hang out. Having a dedicated workspace is huge.

Set timers. I love doing 25/5 increments.ย

"For the next 25 minutes, I am going to do X" Legit say this out fucking loud.ย

You have no one to hold you accountable being remote so it better be yourself.

Once that timer ends, take those 5 minutes and do whatever refreshes you. Go for a walk, do pushups, whatever. Then come back and do it again.ย

3 hours of intentional, uninterrupted work is better than 6 hours of getting off track.ย

I set some "core hours" for work in which during that time window I focus only on work-related activities. I then have my daily tasks outlined (hopefully the day prior) and work my way through the list. Then reward myself for getting through them with time spent on something fun before starting another work-related task.ย

Time blocking on my calendar is a big one. Also trying to keep my work space as work focused as I can (though this is tough since it is in my bedroom) - so doing things like taking breaks/reading/scrolling twitter in my living room instead during the work day. Also coffee. Lots of coffee.

This could just be a me thing but I find having really nice office things helps me enjoy being in my home office more. I upgraded to a cool sit/Stand desk with a touch top and glass overlay and that increased my productivity by a lot. Also met a prospect when I went to buy it so double whammy.ย

The dedicated space is key but also allowing myself to take breaks - like there is no harm in scrolling through Insta or calling a friend or doing some things away from the office space throughout the day. You'd have some breaks if you were in the office checking your phone or talking to coworkers. Let yourself have those breaks at home then refocus.

If you can't work from a home office, rent a coworking space. Somewhere chill that won't freak out if you're on calls, making cold calls, zooms, etc. Made a world of a difference for me.ย

Super corny sales skill but break your day up into production blocks. For example everyone knows the first couple hours of the day are the most important so focus and put yourself in a position where youโ€™re only focused on sales for X amount of hours in the morning. Then at least if you have a shitty afternoon youโ€™ve done great things in the morning.
