How do you sell on LinkedIn?

Even before automation took over, it felt like selling through LinkedIn DM's, connection requests and voicemail was a bunk strategy.

Some people do it well but it seems to convert at a much lower rate than the phone or email.

How are ya'll doing this right now?

Personally, the main success I've seen is through content creation and brand awareness. I reach out to people that engage with me but never mention my content. The conversations are much warmer but it feels more like a way to warm up your outreach rather than a place to do it.

The main problem, I think, is that key decision makers as well as actual users typically aren't as into LinkedIn as much as sales folks.

They're usually working.

I don't.  I use it for research, news, trends, and connections.

I don't. Focus on engaging buyers where they are. Salespeople and recruiters make up the bulk of LNKD engagement. Technical DMs aren't on LNKD.

I use it more for following topics and for viewing who I’m interested in that will be attending conferences. Generally as a means to try and build a convo in real life. But yeah as far as direct messages go, I have a better chance of tweeting at a supermodel and landing a date...

For my particular industry I am finding people who move between businesses. Who has come from a firm that has started their own firm etc. Really use it as a conversation piece.

I still feel it to be a bunk strategy and now every company has an algorithm to make linkedin social selling better and to be honest was never great. It is full of influencers and ads now like IG/FB and to be honest is Facebook lite with a splash of business. Still bunk IMHO

LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a great way to build a target list and you can create account plans, listing priority targets within a business. However, I find it difficult to sell on there as stated in some of the comments. It is a good way to follow up after an intro call by connecting with your prospect, if you share product/industry insight to keep them engaged

I have been an MDR prospecting through linkedin and cold calling and the combination works like a charm for SMB sales. (high volume)

I'm now an AE and continue the hustle. what works for me is consistency and a lots of touches.

If you send someone a connection request with a somewhat tailored message and they accept then that is them saying: "yes, please reach out to me until I say stop".

Most people don't respond the first 2-3 touches. However, if you keep up and mix in other channels you'll almost always get their attention.
